It’s the 1st December so we can all officially start over-eating, wahoo!!! Jokes…I have been doing that since July 1st 2012. My waistline aside, there are so many other things to be excited about at this time of year of course and one of them is Christmas shopping! I know, I know, it can be super stressful and it can take some motivation, but if you are looking for some stocking filler inspiration for the kids then you have come to the right place, because wouldn’t you know it, I have some right her on my bloggity blog blog. *winks*!
First up you are going to need a stocking…but before I get into that, I need to out my mother (a mother whom I love dearly) who unforgivably used actual pantyhose as our Christmas stockings!!! Earlier this year, my sister and I were laughing and giving Mum a bit of grief about it. Yes, we find ourselves hilarious! We were almost finished ribbing Mum when one of us said something along the lines of “at least they weren’t used”. My mother’s actual response I can’t remember, but let’s just say it became apparent there was a bit of Russian roulette when it came to our Christmas stockings being previously worn or not. Haha, and now therapy! So as to avoid inflicting the scars of my childhood upon my own children (Yes, I am being overly dramatic) I wanted something beautiful (and preferably unworn) for my children to hang on Christmas Eve.
Both Michael and Elsie’s stockings were purchased from Piccolo Studio. They are 30cms high and 15cm wide wadded for extra stability and hung with a satin ribbon. It is so hard to see just how wonderful they are, like with a lot of handmade the added wow factor is in the details you can only see and appreciate when you have them in your hand.
Michael selected his own fabric this awesome Santa print;
I have proudly selected some small but sweet little goodies from small businesses here in Australia.
In Michael’s stocking he has;
- Skipping rope, dinosaur eggs (they hatch in water) and test tubes from Lime Tree Kids
- Dinosaur Skittles from Little Earth Nest
- Nesting Animals from Wiggles Piggles
I made the executive decision on Elsie’s fabric and chose this sweet little deer print;
In Elsie’s stocking she has;
- Unicorn skittles and finger puppets (unicorn, fairy and mermaid) from Little Earth Nest
- Nesting Dolls from Wiggles Piggles
- Ice Cream skipping rope from Lime Tree Kids
- Lip gloss (flamingo, donut and ice cream) from Lark Store
I really do love this time of year. I also love a saving and Piccolo Studio has generously offered 15% off her entire store using the code “FEELOVES15′ valid until Sunday 4 December 2016. So what are you waiting for!!!
Wishing you all a wonderful December.
